To research the property the obvious place was to start with the census, this revealed that throughout all the census - 1841 to 1911 it was in the hands of the same family.
1841 - The Crick family are living in Houghton Park Gardens (Lodge), following this family through the census it is clear that the property changed its name...
- 1881 census to The Gardens, then in
- 1891 Lodge Piece House, then in
- 1901 just plain old Lodge Piece
- 1911 it had returned to its old name Houghton Park Gardens, maybe as Isaac had died in 1910, they reverted back to the old name, and brother Henry is now in charge.
