Reg Coles is likely to be the first tenant with the new owners Bedfordshire CC. He had recently come home from the First World War, and prior to that he had passed his Royal Horticultural Society's examination. In 1919 he is living with his parents who are running the post office, and then in 1920 he is at Houghton Park Gardens.
